A few months ago I was in the market for a new bivvy and this time i wanted one that was going to be spot on with no flaws. I chose the tempest v2 brolly but also purchased the zip on front and heavy duty groundsheet should I wish to turn it into a full bivvy. The intention was to fish with just the brolly part but the extras were so light I now tend to fish in full bivvy mode for most of the year.
The most important thing for me when purchasing a bivvy is that it must not leak. I have had more expensive systems that have leaked from day one so it was a tall order. I became very impressed with the tempest as it has never leaked at all. This is essential as I often have my pet dog asleep in the back of the bivvy and I can't have him getting wet.
The second most important thing is that I must be able to set the bivvy up as quickly as possible and also dismantle it just as quickly. The tempest fits this bill as it takes just moments to set up and as a mobile angler I am able to move swims as quickly as possible onto showing fish.
The zip on front literally weighs nothing and is no hassle to carry as an extra comfort and the groundsheet can be folded up and thrown on a barrow also. The fact that the whole system is so light this also helps with my mobile style of angling. For the price it is well worth it and I honestly think its the best bivvy/brolly system I have ever used.
