    New Trig Hammer hooks from ESP

    I have been a long time user of the multi rig, but for some time now have wanted to try a variation of the spinner rig. I came up with a rig idea that I really liked but had resisted changing since I couldn't find a suitable hook pattern....until now! Whilst the market is currently inundated with curve pattern hooks there are fewer with a long shank and I have yet to find one with a wide gape like the Trig Hammer. I have been playing around with these in the size 4 and so far I have been very impressed. I was concerned that the wider gape that I wanted might mean a weaker hook, however, so far this doesn't seem the case in the size 4's. Another point of note, pardon the pun, is how sharp they are out of the packet, even in the larger sizes. Normally I sharpen my hooks but have not felt the need so far. One observation that I feel I must share with you if you are considering this pattern in the larger sizes is that if you want to fish it with a pop up they will need to be buoyant, so you will definitely need to test it in the edge before casting it out in the pond.

    We have heard great things about the ESP Trig Hammer hooks from several anglers. A winner for sure.
