A good pike for St Ives Tackle Mickey

St.Ives Tackle Angling Write Up - Pike Fishing in Cambs

We are now approaching the middle of November and the Pike fishing has got off to a great start for many St.Ives Tackle Team Members. James Chalkley has been visiting the Fenland drains and regularly catching Pike up to 15lb with float fished Bluey sections. Co-owner Mike Bartlett has targeted a large Cambridgeshire Gravel Pit for Pike and so far, landed fish of 11lb, 14lb and a lovely specimen of 17lb 3oz. Legering half a Bluey at 40 yards range proving to be a very successful method.

Mickey Bartlett has also got his Pike season off to a great start catching some lovely double figure fish on a local Gravel Pit using a combination of float fishing whole Sardines and legering Blueys. November is a great month to be out Pike Fishing before it gets too cold and some great sport can be enjoyed in the lead up to Christmas. Mickey will also be spending some time on the Fen Drains over the coming weeks so watch this space!

Paul Sellens has been braving the cold nights targeting Carp on his local syndicate Lake at Earith and been duly rewarded with a lovely 24lb Common carp. Boilies fished over Hemp and Sweetcorn his chosen method. Harry Green also struck gold with a lovely 20lb plus linear carp from his Earith Syndicate Lake, caught on a Sticky Baits Pop up Boilie. If you can cope with the long dark nights, the carp are definitely still on the feed!
